COERR and the Peace Committee of Umpiem Camp organized the World Peace Day celebration on September 21, 2011.

The celebration started with the religious ceremony chaired by religious leaders and followed with speeches about the World Peace Day by COERR representative, refugee camp leaders and Karen Women organization representative. Presentation of awards to the peace composition winners and traditional performance by Karen refugee students from five schools as well as quiz about the World Peace Day are also parts of the World Peace Day celebration at Umpiem camp.

The successful organization of the World Peace Day celebration was due to coordination, cooperation and unity of all concerned in the Peace and Healing of Memory and Reconciliation sector.
